Solid Design is a Danish company that sells cheeky Italian furniture, and we took the opportunity to look more closely at their Forest-series at the furniture fair. Forest is a series of outdoor furniture where you break down the boundaries between art and design, without for that matter would be sacrificing quality and convenience. Since it is made of aluminum becomes the durable and easy to handle.
The series consists of an armchair, a lounge chair without armrests and a dinner table in different designs. Head ideologues behind Forest named Robby and Francesca Cantarutti and they've succeeded in creating artistic and aesthetic furniture.

See, for example, for almost reminiscent of a ghostly fairy forest with its hollow pattern and it's no coincidence that the series is called just Forest.
Nominations to the "Office Products Design Awards" suggests that it will adorn many office environments as well as it fits on a summer patio.

Other interestingThe Finnish textile company Marimekko was established in 1951 by Pavilion and Armi Ratia in response to the lack of clothing in Finland after the war. Marimekko means Maris dress or in other words, "simple everyday dress with no frills." The concept laid the foundation for the company despite the fact that Marimekko's first collection consisted of, for that time, bold prints and colors.
Armi Rati who had studied at the Ateneum Art school was convinced that its future lay in offering new fabrics with designs that are not already on the market. Today, Marimekko is a well established company is widely known primarily for its textiles to furniture as well as fashion.

Other interestingOne of the most recognized craftsmen from the modern period in Nordic design is Poul Kjærholm. Kjærholm career spanning 32 years during which he designed and produced several furniture, mostly chairs and tables. Kjaerholm began his career with an apprenticeship with a Danish cabinet-maker, followed by a course in furniture design at Kunsthåndværkerskolen in Copenhagen.

The combination of his skills as a carpenter and the knowledge acquired in the school's industrial design module (which was taught by Jørn Utzon) was clearly shown in the chair, PK25, which was his thesis. The angular aspect of the chair with its curved feet made for a striking silhouette and success followed shortly. PK25 was put into production by E. Kold Christensen, who became a good friend of Kjærholm.
Other interestingBruno Mathsson (1907-1988) was the son of a fourth generation Swedish cabinet maker. He loved architecture and interior design. Although he was reared toilers with beautiful wood from woodworking world, he was drawn in another direction of motion functionality in the early 1900's.
Using functionalism in interior design means that you certify that everything in the home has a specific purpose. Some of Mathsson previous works were considered ugly by those who did not know funktionaliströrelsen. When a hospital bought his chairs in 1931 for their waiting room visitors found them so ugly that the chairs eventually stored in an attic, never to be used again. In any case, his breakthrough on a show in New York 1939th
Mathsson was not just a functionalist, convinced that every part of his design should have a purpose, he was also a self-proclaimed perfectionist who thought that a piece of furniture should be aesthetically pleasing from all angles before it could be considered finished. One of his most popular designs are table superellipse.

Other interestingBruno Mathsson is best known for his chairs and his architectural designs such as his well-insulated and beautiful glass house, but he made other fine home furnishings inclusive computer table, sofa beds and dining table. One of the most versatile and well known is Mathsson folding table, a design that is elegant and beautiful but also extremely practical.
It was natural that a young Mathsson would grow up to work especially wood, genera Mathsson had not worked on anything else during the five generations before him. As a little boy, he had chores to do in the family's furniture and carpenter, and he had practical experience and knowledge of different techniques, tools and woods all his life.
To learn more, especially in engineering and technology aspect that were not available in the small town Värnamo, ordered Mathsson books and consulted experts. He was not only learning and knowledge but also created a network of mentors who would help him later. His formal education was part funded through design awards he won for his Furniture .
