Bruno Mathsson (1907-1988) was the son of a fourth generation Swedish cabinet maker. He loved architecture and interior design. Although he was reared toilers with beautiful wood from woodworking world, he was drawn in another direction of motion functionality in the early 1900's.
Using functionalism in interior design means that you certify that everything in the home has a specific purpose. Bruno Mathsson is best known for his chairs and his architectural designs such as his well-insulated and beautiful glass house, but he made other fine home furnishings inclusive computer table, sofa beds and dining table. One of the most versatile and well known is Mathsson folding table, a design that is elegant and beautiful but also extremely practical.
It was natural that a young Mathsson would grow up to work especially wood, genera Mathsson had not worked on anything else during the five generations before him.
