Yngve Ekström, founder of Swedese and Lamino chair designers

Scandinavian design was a very large part of the 1900s home furnishings industry, and some names are different indeed from the crowd. These have included Bruno Mathsson, Hans Wegner, Alvar Aalto and Arne Jacobsen, but one of the most memorable is Yngve Ekström was born at Haga Fors (Goolge Maps) in Småland 1913th

Then Haga Fors is on town in Sweden with the oldest presence in the furniture industry, it was no surprise that a young Yngve Ekström was drawn to what was so popular and pervasive in his surroundings. Like many other Scandinavian designers, he studied not only the woodwork, but learned even from academic studies of art history and related painting, signing and sculpted. Many of the style elements in his work is evident related to the study.

In 1945 he founded and his brother Jerker Swedese, one of the most respected manufacturers of modern furniture in the world. He continued, was active in the company until his death, a career of over forty years. Products from Swedese included elegant, artistic items for the home, but the clean profile design and UTILITARIAN they did even more popular in larger offices and businesses.

Lamino easy chair: a timeless classic design

Lamino easy chair was designed in 1956 by Yngve Ekstrom. It is a classic armchair, in Swedish style, which is still very popular. To chair also includes an upholstered stool. The armchair made of furniture company Swedese in Vaggeryd.

Yngve Ekström was born 1913th During adolescence he was interested in art and design. He trained as a carpenter and devoted himself finally to the design of furniture . Together with his brother, Jerker, he started in 1945 Swedese. Yngve Ekström led the company until his death, 1988.

Lamino easy chair consists of a wooden frame and a soft seat cushion. Various types of wood used, for example, birch, oak, cherry, teak or walnut. Wood materials can be laminated, varnish or oil paint. Laminate is most common. Dress code is usually of leather or sheepskin but other materials are present.
